3 day trip from Uyuni to uyuni

We will pick you up from any point in Uyuni at 10:30am to start our tour (in case you are in Tupiza, we will depart at 7:00am). Just 10 minutes from Uyuni is located Cementerio de trenes, where you will see a lot of ancient trains. Then, we will travel to Colchani, the village where the salt is processed and where you will find some salt handicrafts and some clothes made of llama wool. After 20 minutes of driving on the salt flat, we will arrive to Escaleras de Sal (salt staircase), where you will see some salt blocks. Close to this place we will find Ojos del Salar and Montones de Sal. Around 13:00 we will arrive to the first salt hotel (now it is a museum), which is approximately in the middle of the salt flat, here we will have our lunch. After that, we will drive a little more to find a perfect place for the famous crazy photos in the Uyuni salt flat, we will spend around 1 hour taking this photos. During the afternoon, we will visit Isla Incahuasi, where you will find the giant cactus (this island is visit only during dry season). At the end of the afternoon, we will drive close to the border to appreciate a nice sunset in the amazing Salar de Uyuni. Finally, we will go to our Salt Accommodation to spend the first night.

Note 1: During rainy season (normally from January to April), if the salt flat has a lot of water, we can not stay in Villa Candelaria. From Anaconda, we will go to Uyuni or Colchani to stay there.
Note 2: During rainy season, if the salt flat has a lot of water, we can not visit the Incahuasi island.

We will depart from accommodation around 07:30, after 1 hour and half we will arrive to Salar de Chiguana, an small salt flat of the region. Then, we will travel to Mirador Ollague, where you will see the semi-active volcano and many volcanic rocks. Around 11:30 we will arrive to the first Andean lagoon, Laguna Cañapa and 15 minutes after we will arrive to Laguna Hedionda, where you will find a lot of flamingoes. Here we will have our lunch with a nice view of the lagoon. After lunch, we will go to Laguna Honda, where you will see a nice reflection of the mountains in the lagoon. Then, we will drive for around 90 minutes around Desierto de Siloli, where we will see a nice combination of colors in the mountains, before we arrive to Árbol de Piedra, (Stone Tree), here you will find many rocks formations. Around 16:00, we will arrive to Laguna Colorada, here we will spend around 1 hours to walk around the lagoon and see the flamingoes. At the end of the afternoon, we will drive to Geysers Sol de Mañana (maybe we arrive on time to see the sunset here). Finally, we will drive to Polques, where hot springs are located. Here we will spend our second night, so you will be able to swim in the hot springs during the night with an amazing view of the stars.

Early in the morning you will be able to walk around the hot springs during sunrise and after breakfast, we will drive for 15 min to arrive to Desierto de Dalí, a place with mountains of surrealist colors, reminiscent of the photos of Salvador Dalí and rock formations of petrified lava. Then we will visit Laguna Verde (4250 m.a.s.l.), which presents an emerald green coloration due to arsenic and magnesium content in its waters. It is located at the feet of Volcano Licancabur (5868m), which represents the border between Chile and Bolivia. Then, we will travel back to hot springs (takes around 1 hour) and then we will drive for few hours to arrive to Italia Perdida, where you will have some time to walk around the rocks. After that, we will go to Laguna Catal or Laguna Negra and spend here around 40 minutes. From here, we will start our return to Uyuni (takes around 2.5 hours), we will arrive to Uyuni around 17:00 to finish our service.
